An incubator program supporting socially motivated entrepreneurs with mentorship, resources, and visibility to transform community-centered ideas into sustainable ventures.
Social entrepreneurship sits at the intersection of innovation and compassion — where the drive to create value goes beyond profit and is rooted in a commitment to serving society. The Social Entrepreneurship Incubator was developed in collaboration with a group of third-sector organizations to provide a structured, supportive environment for individuals with community-centered business ideas to develop, refine, and launch their ventures with the guidance of experienced mentors and practitioners.
The incubator was structured around three phases: ideation, development, and launch. During the ideation phase, participants were encouraged to identify unmet community needs and explore how entrepreneurial thinking could address them. The development phase offered practical workshops on business modeling, legal frameworks for social enterprises, impact measurement, and sustainable finance. The final launch phase provided participants with a platform to present their ventures to a panel of investors, civil society leaders, and government representatives.
The Third Sector Portal was responsible for designing and executing the full communications and branding strategy of the incubator, including its visual identity, recruitment campaign, promotional materials, and participant experience design. We also produced the capstone event — a social innovation showcase attended by key stakeholders from the public and private sectors — ensuring it was delivered with the quality and gravitas befitting the significance of the occasion.
The inaugural cohort of the incubator produced several promising social ventures now in active development, covering sectors from accessible education to elderly care and sustainable food systems. Their journeys exemplify the transformative potential of structured support for socially minded entrepreneurs.
